My Google Adsense banned experience
I’m sure most of you know already that I was banned from Google Adsense a week ago. But last weekend my account was reinstated in full. Yep, in less than a week I have my account back. You might asked what happened and what action I have done… So here I’ll be sharing to you ONE thing (yes only one) that I did and was back before I knew it, ![]()
I was banned March 4, 2008. I received an email from Google Adsense stating that my account has been disabled. I’m totally surprised and at the same time disappointed because as I have mentioned few weeks ago, I’m seeing progress with my Adsense earnings and then this thing happened. It’s my first time and I don’t really have that full knowledge on how to deal with it. On the email, they didn’t explain the main reason or even specify if I have invalid clicks. I just jump into that conclusion (invalid clicks) since I can’t think of any reason for banning me but just to let you know in all honesty I didn’t click on any of my ads ever. When I read the Disabled Account FAQ, I learned that there’s a possibility of reinstatement. I fill up their online appeal form, which is the ONLY way you can contact Google. At the bottom of that form, there’s a space where you put any relevant information that would fairly explain the invalid clicks activity. So I tried my best that I can explain to them my side.
Actually my/our suspect of those clicks was the recent upgrade of our Mac to OS X Leopard. Since all the settings changed, the system preferences have not been checked after the upgrade thus the sensitivity of the Macbook’s track pad. So even though we didn’t do any click, it will open up a new page. And all the invalid clicks happened right after the upgrade. So I explained that all. You might find it very simple reason but that’s the real thing happened and the only ground that I can think of that lead to this invalid clicks as I firmly believe I didn’t violate any of their TOS. So after filling up the form, I submit without any assurance for reinstatement. I know that time it might be impossible to get back my account with the reason I gave to them. But anyway, I still hope that they will consider it.
When I made my post that day being so disppointed, I received a comment from Marhgill giving me a link to a guide relevant to my situation. (Thanks Marhgill!) … I was able to read the Adsense Reinstatement guide on that site, and one of the advices stated there is to email Google or fill up an online appeal form, which I just did. Another step is “don’t give up”, meaning to develop another email to Google. So I was planning already of doing another mail if in case I haven’t heard anything after a couple of days. But to my surprise, last weekend I received another mail from Google Adsense informing me that my account was reinstated…
Then I’ve seen the ads back again to my site, *wink* … So you see, I did only one thing… email Google.
So for those who have been banned, there is really hope as long as you believe you didn’t violate any TOS. And base on my experience, try to explain to Google the real scenario that happened that you think that lead to disable your account. I think my case is just a simple one and I’m not earning that much yet but nonetheless, it’s a big thing for me, especially now that I’m trying to work on this again….

Congratulations! I didn’t know that you can make an appeal for Google Adsense. I remember my boss from my internship getting mad because he was banned, and like you said, no reason was attached on the email.

To start earning money with your blog, initially use Google Adsense but gradually as your traffic increases, keep adding more and more money making programs to your site.
