… musings of a Stay-At-Home Mom

Acts of Parenthood

Got this from the book I’m reading right now- ‘Finding Peace’ … And just want to share it with you and at the same time a note for myself as well…

~ Tell your parents you love them
~ Say ” I love you” to your kids at least once a day
~ Ask yourself, “Will this really matter ten years from now?” when you get upset at your children
~ Look forward, not backwards
~ Begin your painful childhood memory with “I forgive you for… ” to reframe the event in a light of understanding and love
~ Be the best parent you can be
~ Be the parent you never had
~ Treat yourkids with kindness and respect
~ Forgive yourself for any anger and guilt you may feel
~ Remember, you have only one mother and one father
~ Make every day Mother’s day and Father’s day
~ Tell your parents that you are proud of them
~ Tell your parents that you remember what they did to help you get to where you are today
~ Ask your parents what they would have done differently if they could
~ Remind yourself that a parent is simply an imperfect man or woman- and so are you
~ Never stop giving love

:) Have a great day everyone!
