… musings of a Stay-At-Home Mom

Chinese New Year coming soon!

This year’s Valentines Day happened to be the first day of Lunar New Year (February 14, 2010)… And since we’re staying in a country where this event is most celebrated, we can feel the holiday mood and excitement of the people around. There are decors at the malls, stores, buildings and houses… and looks like the town painted in red, haha! See these hanging decors at Times Square…

At Supermarket, you will find a lot of chocolate boxes and cookies, which is popular during this time. They have this tradition of giving gift whenever you visit a house on Chinese New Year and usually the gift is either chocolate or cookies because it’s sweet! Different types of chocolates being displayed and stores taking this chance to have the point of purchase displays near cash register, which is a way to encourage impulse buyer, hahaha!

So for the next two weeks, Hong Kong will be such a busy city for sure. And we’re looking forward for the flower market at Victoria Park, fireworks at the Harbour and some sale at the mall…
Migs’ school activities will also start next week as their Lunar New Year week. And they will be wearing in Chinese attire then. Hopefully I can get nice pictures for this year’s Chinese new Year… :)
