CT Daycare VS Baby Sitter

The Advantages and Disadvantages of a Daycare and Baby Sitter

If you are a parent and you will need to find someone to take care of your kids while you are at work, your option will be to bring your child to a Connecticut day care or hire a baby sitter.

Each have their own advantages and disadvantages. Let us take a look at each one of them:

• Hiring a baby sitter means that your child will just stay at home and the baby sitter will be the one to come to your home to take care of your kid. This gives you confidence that your child is safe and secure as she is just at the confines of your property. This can also help your child to adapt faster to the baby sitter setup as he is already used to the environment. Getting a baby sitter ensures that your child will get extra attention as the baby sitter only has to take care of a small number of kids compared to a day care where there are more kids being watched by the day care staff.

The disadvantage though of getting a baby sitter is that some of the baby sitters are not trained enough compared to day care staff in terms of providing early education to your kids. And since your kid will just be alone in your house or with a small number of children only, hiring a baby sitter does not provide a good environment for your kid to interact and socialize with the other kids, which plays a big part in developing the child’s interpersonal skills and is a very important skill to learn by kids of their age.

• A CT daycare on the other hand has staff that has been well trained to provide the love, care, and attention that each child in the day care needs. Daycares are not only a place where you can leave your kids but it can also act as a CT preschool as it provides a structured environment where your child can learn the basics like colors, shapes, letters, and more which can be a good head start to prepare your kids before they enter a formal pre-school. Since there are more kids in a daycare, children will learn how to socialize and interact to help them build their social and interpersonal skills at a very young age. Daycare is also a much affordable way to get help in taking care of your kids than hiring a baby sitter, which usually charges by the hour.

The disadvantage of sending your kids to daycare is the risk that your child cannot get 100% attention, as there are more kids that the staff attends to. That is why in choosing a daycare, it is important to note the child to staff ratio to make sure that proper attention is given to all the kids in the daycare.
As a parent, it is important to weigh these pros and cons to help them decide between the two options. Each child is different and may react differently on the two setups mentioned. At the end of the day, the parent should decide which setup best suits the personality of their kid and which setup will give the parent a peace of mind that their kid is in the best care while they work to earn a living.
