Mommastuff Question#2

Do you have routines for your kids? Care to share? Does it really help?

Yes we do have routines. When my son started his nursery school last September 2007, we have our daily routine, a flexible one. He has school only in the morning so we all woke up early and not to mention we’re residing at Kowloon side and the school and hubby’s office at HK side… you imagine the mommy’s sacrifice? ;) well, don’t ask anymore, hehehe….

Anyway, here’s our basic daily timetable. It differs only on weekends.

Books are fun!

“Books are great!”… got the tune? :) Yes that’s from Barney song, hehe…

Anyway, last Friday after Migs’ school we went straight to Times Square and have lunch at Delifrance. Yes, I have a lunch date with my little boy. We do it once in a while just the two of us. After our lunch, we went to the library. It was his request and wanted to borrow some picture books. So off we went to the Central library.

When we were at the kids floor area, he immediately sat on one side and took the headphone.

They have a birthday party in school that’s why he’s wearing casual clothes that day instead of the school uniform.

Your 4-year-old

This is from baby center. I’m a subscriber of this site since the time I got pregnant until now.. I love reading articles related to kids and parents. In fact I have tons of magazines about this, hehe… I don’t use it as diagnostic tool for my son but instead a guide because I believe each child develop at different rates and achieve milestones at different times. And as parents, it’s nice to read experiences from other parents and be able to get some tips at certain areas…

Ok, so at 4 years, what your child may be doing now:

Migs 4th birthday party wrap-up

Migs 4th birthday

March 23, 2008 was the birthday party at McDonalds. It was a complete success and the birthday boy had a blast. When I asked him he simply said, “it was fun!” ;)

We’re expecting around 30+ guests but only 20-25 came with only 6 kids, LOL! Well I think it’s ok since Migs enjoyed playing with them.

Some photos:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIGS! Mommy & Daddy loves you very much…

;)

An Easter getaway

March 24 Miguel’s birthday would be an Easter Monday and it’s holiday here in HK. Aside from his birthday party on the 23rd, we plan to have a getaway and this time a farm visit… I was actually surprised when I learned that there’s a farm to go here in HK but yes there is and it is somewhere at Taitong. The place is too far as one of the mommies have said in the forum. But I’m sure the little boy will love it once we get there because there are various activities we can do like strawberry picking, some ostrich to see, a bat cave to check and a pony ride. The later is what Migs excited about and he’s always telling us he would love to ride on a pony. Hopefully they have saddles for young riders.

For now, I won’t be elaborating more of this place yet but I will give you the details once we get there. Yes, plus photos for sure, hehe…

Migs’ Birthday Party checklists review

One week from now, it will be Miguel’s birthday party. As I mentioned we’ll have it at McDonalds. It’s just a simple party with few kids plus adults of course. We don’t really invite all his classmates, just few of them. I was planning to adapt the formula for the # of kids to attend, that is:

Number of kids invited = childs age x2 + 1

So for Migs, that would be 4 x 2 + 1 = 9. But I exceeded, hehe…

I read that in the mommy forum where I’m a member of here in HK. Well of course, the more the merrier but if you will be working on a budget and you wanted to have the party at home, I guess that will be a good calculation. You’ll go nuts with lots of kids,

Anyway, as far as Miguels party I think I’m half done with my checklists…

T.G.I.F.

I’m really thankful it’s Friday already. This has been a busy week for me or should I say my haggard week. I was out most of the time. Let’s do a recap:

:: Monday/Tuesday, I was busy with lots of documents. Visa renewal, subsidy renewal, etc… etc…

:: Miguel’s activity in school last Wednesday was so good and I was able to mingle with other parents. We had our own task on that day and everybody just have fun. Here are few photos wherein they made a butterfly out of different kinds of food/snacks.

It’s March!

So it’s only today that I realized it, huh! Silly me…

Actually I’m in the mood blogging today ;) so regardless if I feel disappointed with Google Adsense disabling my account still I will blog and have that smile on my face (I don’t have a choice, hehe)… Anyway, for this month we’re looking forward to our little boy’s 4th birthday, which we don’t know yet if we’re having party or not. It will be holiday here in HK that day (Easter Monday) so no plans yet… But one thing for sure, this coming Friday they’ll have the celebration in school. They usually celebrate on first Friday of every month to those kids having birthday for a particular month. And this March,

Talk about Migs birthday

Next month our little boy will be 4 years old. That fast?!? … And as early as now, he keeps on telling me he wanted to have a soccer ball cake. Mind you he doesn’t want us to buy outside but he wanted me to bake it for him, LOL! Well, I’ll try it. I haven’t done a theme cake before so this would be the first time if ever. Aside from the cake, he’s telling me also he wanted to have balloons in our house. You see, he’s really a big boy and he has the idea of what party is hehe. I’m not sure yet but I’m thinking to give him a small party but I don’t think our house would fit all the kids. I told hubby we could celebrate it outside like in McDonalds or other place that hosts birthday party. I have a lot of ideas already if this will push through… I started browsing different party invitations, and even list down some items for favors. Yes, that’s how I excited I am. ( I remember his 1st birthday, I was already preparing as early as January, LOL!) … And good timing also, my CT designer has some templates for party favors so it’s really great. Anyway, if ever there will be no party, I can still give this favors to his classmates because they have birthday celebration in school for those celebrating for a particular month. So that will be put in good use. :D … I can imagine now how busy I am for the next few weeks. ;) Anyway, whatever plans we have, I’m going to spill it here… and before I end this post let me show you our almost 4 yr old little guy…

almost 4
he just woke up from bed and the first thing he do was to ride on his bike…. ;)
;)

Picture Me

… that’s what my little boy would say if he wants to take him a photo, :)

Here’s one shot taken the other night (eve of the CNY)…

he’s really a big boy now…! more photos later on.

Where are we yesterday?

HK disneyland

:D yeah, another magical day.
But only Miguel and me… more saga later…. Ciao!

Meet our Lil’ chinese boy

chinese costume

Migs’ wearing one of his Chinese clothes… ;) He looks big here because of the sweater inside. As I remember, we have an 8C temperature that day…

He wore this last week as part of their Chinese culture week in school. If you have read my January round-up, I have posted one photo of him too wearing the other chinese costume.

Below are other shots. He’s not looking at the camera already and a bit irritated because mommy always taking him photos,

Frog Hopper

These were taken a week ago when Migs asked to go to Jumpin’ Gym…

It was his first time for this ride. We asked him first if he wanted and he said yes… :D

And whenever it goes down, he would shout out loud, … Look at his face here…

Chocolate Lollipop, anyone?

chocolate lollipop

I slept past 12AM last night just to finish packing all the candies for Migs’ giveaways to his friends in school today. I’m happy that I finally done it and looking good. It’s my first time to do it alone because couple of years ago, my sister and I usually do this during Christmas as our give away to kids and some friends. And it was her who does the big work most of the time. I’m just really good in packing and eating, :D … And so yesterday afternoon before I started doing it, I was chatting to my sister as to the procedure of painting each design and the tips to easily melt chocolates. And it’s all fun… I was able to make 24 pieces more than enough for my sons’ friends and plan to do some this weekend as I do have more chocolates left.

ETA:
For those who wanted to do this choco lollipop, the simple procedure:
MELT, MOLD and SERVE :D

Holiday Preps

Are you done? :) Me, almost half of it finished. Unlike when I was in the Philippines wherein I have to prepare little gifts for my godchildren, this time none LOL! I have only one here, :) and so it’s not that haggard for me to prepare. The only big tasks for me during this holiday is doing the cards and sending them and also the calendar that we sent to our family. And that’s it. I’m done with that. (i’ll share with you our calendar later on… ) For my boys’ gift: I was able to buy Migs’ wish already for Christmas but didn’t wrap yet. He was actually receiving little gifts from Santa, which started last Sunday through his big socks hanging near our window, and he was always excited to check it every morning. (I’ll just compile all the gifts he received and show it to you maybe before christmas, hehe)…. I’ll be buying more little toys by next week and few books, which he requested from Santa…. And for Christmas, he’ll get what he wished and prayed for… you know what it is? Mini cars and the car mat :D … He saw this while browsing Toys R Us brochure and he would always tell he wanted that gift. Good thing it’s not that expensive so I’m planning to add few more books for him. (We didn’t buy him much toys right now…)… For my big guy, I haven’t bought a gift for him yet. I’m confused which one to buy… hahaha… more blabings later on… :)

Poor Santa

Remember I told you on this post, there’s a disaster in one of my decors?

This is it! :D

poor santa

My figurine santa…. Just to let you know, the hand should be shorter. If you see the feet, that should only be the size. :)

I don’t have intention to buy that santa mainly because it’s breakable… I have a little boy so I’m making sure I don’t have any glass decors. But the little guy insisted. He wanted that santa and I thought we don’t have any santa decor at home. So I just bought it, anyway it’s cheap.

At home while I’m decorating our tree, Miguel was busy too… I know he’s playing with that Santa so I let him be. Later on, he went to me and said…

MIGS: Mommy look at my Santa, with a looonggggg hands….

(he was smiling and thrilled to show it to me)

ME: Oh my God Migs what did you do…

( I was in shocked!)

MIGS: See mommy, Santa’s hand is long….

Wahhhh….. Instead of getting annoyed, I was laughing in tears…. :D I told him he’s not supposed to pull it. And now I just can’t put it back. And then he keeps on saying sorry, sorry,

Oh well, kids…. ;)

And this time whenever we saw that poor santa, which I put on our side table and Migs still playing on the long hands, hubby and I can’t help but laugh… (and now while doing this post, I’m laughing too… :D )

and by the way, I’m sure you’ve seen my Christmas tree here…. you know what, it fell down yesterday… waaaahhhhh…. :D - more saga on this later on. Ciao!
