Its another Friday…

TGIF… Looking forward for the weekend though it will be a busy one… There will be a school activity tomorrow for my little boy and he’ll be performing for the first time. I’m excited…. For Sunday, I’m planning to have hair cut, ME stuff and family bonding…

To wrap up the week, here are 2 things I’m busy at yesterday and today:
Dyesebel Marathon
O yes, I’m a fan and that’s started during my vacation in Manila last July, LOL! When I went back here in Hong Kong, I just watched it over the net. And yesterday while folding clothes, I’m started watching my one week backlog of episodes, LOL! I just continued it today… So here’s what my desk look like:

Notice the twitter at the side, LOL! I’m tweeting while watching and look the many tabs of the pc… hahahaha… multi tasking mom!

Photo overload…
I’m uploading photos since yesterday and after uploading lots of photos this morning, I feel the computer memory is going to give up, LOL! The last time I made a backup to our hard disk was 3 months ago, yikes! In other words, I’m eating too much of the memory now. HUH! Not to mention the PSD files I’m storing here for my digital layouts plus the kits …Oh my! Well, the reason I can’t backup all the files is that I can’t connect to our mini server or the external HD. The husband made some changes that we can’t access it for few weeks already. I told him to fix it as I have TONS of photos sitting on the pc and need to back up. Well, hopefully to have some time this weekend to do this stuff…

Ok, that’s it for now. Happy Friday and have a great weekend to all. To my friends attending the Twitter party, have fun and enjoy… don’t forget the photos… LOL! :D

A dozen chocolate cupcake

This is supposed to be my weekend snapshot that should be posted last Monday but bleh it was only today that I finish uploading all the photos from the 2 cameras. Yes, I took shots almost everyday, LOL!

Chocolate cupcake

Ok, obviously the photo is not among the best fat burners but the opposite, LOL! That’s a dozen of chocolate cupcakes I baked last Saturday for my “inaanak” (godchild) celebrating his 2nd birthday. I usually baked cupcakes but this is the first time I put frosting plus the sprinkles where the little boy enjoyed putting on. I just don’t like it when the frosting softened as we arrived at the Island Resort where the party was held but even so it’s still yummy. :D More blabs about this cupcake at Kitchen Deelite.

Start of year long HK Ocean Park adventure

Last Tuesday, we got our Smart Fun Annual pass at Ocean Park, and so Migs and I tried it that day after his school. We went there after I picked him up from his school bus station. He was so excited. The last time we went there was last year during the time my siblings were here.

Ocean park is much bigger than HK Disneyland yet the later has some magical feeling. Ocean Park on the other hand is much of adventurous atmosphere and they have the Kids world area where the little kiddos can get their own hang out…

Being an ordinary day, it’s not crowded when we went there. So it was really good. No long line to queue up for the rides. I didn’t take so much photo though as I have to watch my son going here and there and keeps on running and don’t know which place to go first, LOL! Let me just show you some of the pictures I’ve taken before I got memory stick full message… Yes, my fault, I didn’t unload some pictures taken few days ago that’s why I run out of memory… And I can’t save anymore after I took a video of the cute pandas. :) Also I brought with me my digital camera only so there were some blurred pictures…

Anyway, here’s the first shot, hehe… Migs spotted Whiskers as we enter the lowland part of Ocean Park and he asked me quickly to take a photo.
Ocean Park with Whiskers
My boy is not really scared of any mascots… :)

This is the Kids World area… I took the shot while riding on a Ferris Wheel :)
Ocean park Kids World1

Then these are random photos at the Kids world:

Sorry not much! hehe

After watching at Whisker’s Theatre…
Ocean Park Whiskers Theatre show
When they announced that we can take photos on stage, my son run quickly, hahahaha! He actually wanted to see those characters closely…

After watching the Sky Fair show…
Ocean Park Sky Fair

And last the video from the Giant Pandas Habitat… Migs and I were so delighted to see them both… Last year, they didn’t show up but this time I was able to take a video and Migs saw them closely… It’s really nice going there in ordinary day, not crowded… ok, so watch the video below, just ignore the background voice in cantonese… but I think you can hear my little boy talking :)

part 1:

Part 2

And after that, I got memory card full, LOL!

We only stayed at the lowland area of Ocean Park. Miguel wanted to ride cable car but since it’s getting late already, I told him we’re just going back there next time.

That’s it. Thanks for reading this far. :)

Get ready for the shipping boxes

Oftentimes, when you or your family living abroad or family members working abroad, one thing that keep them busy when holiday season is coming is shopping and packing goodies and presents for the holidays to be sent to their family back home. And as early as this month, I can see some OFW packing already to their balikbayan box.Others would shop one at a time then store them first and once their box is full, it’s time to pack and get ready for the shipment. Usually shipping boxes reached destination almost 1 month depending on the location. And as advised by some of the shipping companies, it’s good to send the shipping boxes early during the holidays as it is the peak season and it might reach the destination late. That said, I think I need to get ready for our shipping box too. I usually shop early Nov but I think it’s too late then, hehe… This is actually our first time. We usually give money for our family back home as our Christmas presents. If we can’t prepare on time, maybe the same old way will be fine, LOL! How about you, done with all your holiday shopping? Do you have a balikbayan box for your family too?

PhotoFunia

I’m having fun with this great photo effect… Take a lookie!

What amazing billboard is this! :D

… Good sketch, eh! ;)

Nice photo effect, huh! Created these at PhotoFunia. :)

Weekly Roundup: 9/29-10/5

Happy Monday to all… Here’s my review of our family activities for the week of Sept 29 to Oct 5, 2008:

Monday/Tuesday / Friday, normal routines for us, except last Monday I’m the one who sent Migs to his school bus station. Nothing much action during these days.

Wednesday, national holiday celebrating HK Establishment day. We went out early that day going to Victoria Park for jogging and some relaxation. As we arrived to the place, we’re surprised with a huge crowd. Since it’s also the last day of Ramadan, there some gathering at the park. Nonetheless, the husband we’re able to jog while I accompanied Migs to enjoy at the playground. Few shots below:

20081001_1270 20081001_1280

20081001_1302 20081001_1291

And before we have our lunch, we stopped first at the library where Migs borrowed some books.
At night, we’re able to watch the fireworks. Unfortunately I don’t have any photo to share, LOL! I said I’m going to take shots BUT I’m not in good mood at that time so I left the 2 cameras, hehe… then when we’re at the place, I’m so annoyed when all of the people beside us taking shots, eeekkk. I tried to take photo using my iPhone but not a good one. Anyway, better luck next time, LOL!

Thursday was the Flu vaccine day at Migs’ school. I was there and together with my little boy, we have the vaccine. (yes including me)… We have this also last year. And according to Migs’ pedia at Manila, it’s nice to have a yearly flu vaccine for him. So we always take this chance.

Saturday was laundry day for me. I didn’t do any laundry for the whole week so just imagine the overloaded basket, LOL! We’re supposed to stroll in the afternoon, but laziness attacked. But I went out for food grocery.

Sunday though it was raining we went out early and have breakfast at McDonalds, :). Love their new Grilled Chicken big breakfast meal. Then the rest of the day spent at home. There were heavy squally showers and thunderstorms so it’s best to cuddle inside the house.

And that’s it. Thanks for letting me share.

Home Stuff

While browsing the new Ikea brochure, which has lots of new items I’m starting to ponder when can we have our own house so I can put decorations and design as I wish. With their product lists, you can’t resist buying few things for you home not to mention the low prices they offer. Like for instance lamps, bedsheets, pillowcase and some things for the kitchen. I learned they’re having a bi-weekly sale, and for the next couple of weeks some fixtures included on the sale. I think they have one of these computer chairs and I wanted to get one for us. We don’t use computer chair for over a year now, hahaha… We disposed our old one, as it’s not good anymore. So it’s time for replacement. Other things that I’m interested are photo frames and their scented candles. The later is a must-have for me, hehe… These could be another spending I know, but of course I won’t be getting things that will not be used. Another listing to do. :)

The little boy wishes

Holidays coming soon, and it’s another time for gift giving and gathering of family and friends. I’m sure most of the mommies start shopping now for their kidlets. In fact most of my online pals started their online shopping already. As for me, I hold off my cart, LOL! Instead I made a list first. I have to be wise in spending at this time. For my little boy, just like other kids he prepared wishes for Santa this coming Christmas. He has a great belief for Santa. One time I told him, “Daddy is the Santa” but he answered, “No mommy. Santa leaves at the Northpole.” Hahahaha…. So what’s my little boy wish? He likes to have a scooter specific to Thomas scooter like this

Weekly round up (9/15-21)

Ok, we’re onto another week and I think this is the last week for September, isn’t it??? Hmmm, fast huh! Anyway, here’s my weekly round up:

Last week Monday (sept 15) was HK holiday being the day after the Mid-Autumn Festival. I think I have blog about what we’ve done on that day here.
Tuesday started Mig’s normal school time. Compared to last school year, the school time was 15 minutes earlier this year and that means he’ll be picked up by the school bus earlier and meaning the little boy needs to wake up early, hehe… He needs to get up around 6:30am: bathed, dressed up, eat breakfast. (I usually prepare a rice meal) and leaves 7:30am together with his Dad. Yes, we made another change starting that week. Instead me sending him to the school bus station, the husband does it and then goes to office afterwards. :) (sidestory: Last Friday Migs was crying because he wanted me to go with them sending him to the bus station. I talked to him on the mobile phone while they’re waiting for the school bus and he said, “I want you here Mommy” and I heard him crying… uh, oh… :( nasanay na kasi sya ako yun naghahatid, hehe… ) … well, we had a bit adjustment on this matter last week but yesterday I talked to him and explained everything. And this morning, no crying blues already, hehe.. Before he went inside the elevator, I said, “take care baby” and he answered “take care too mommy” … hehe…. Then I called on the mobile phone. They’re at the bus station already. I talked to the little boy and this what he said, “ We’re here Mommy waiting for the school bus. The kids are here too…” And that made me happy, at least he’s not sad anymore.

Productive Sunday

Though I made a lot of work, I’m happy to see our house neat and tidy, hehe… Yesterday, I spent my day cleaning and sorting out messy stuff at home. I woke up early but didn’t open Mac. I knew once I opened it, I’ll be stacked the whole day, huh :) and I have things to do. So forget about online first, hehe…
I started cleaning at the kitchen then the living room and last the bedrooms: wiped, vacuumed and mopped… Loaded laundry, piled clothes to fold, cleaned up Migs’ messy toys (never ending)… And after we had our lunch (the husband by the way does the marketing and cooking), I cleaned and sorted out Mig’s room. There were toys’ and books everywhere and then I kept Migs’ old clothes and uniforms. Later on, folded clothes from laundry and sorted some scattered papers/docs on the computer table to its designed folder. So everything looks really neat… At the end of the day, I’m so tired and yet feel great to see things in order. :)

Now it’s Monday. Lazy to get up but I have no choice since we don’t have any house help to prepare breakfast… Anyway, I won’t be doing much of house chores today. It’s mac and me so I have the time blogging and surfing. :) and I think time to check even Ferrari parts… good! I’ll try doing some layouts also later on. More of me today…. Ciao!

Rejoining the workforce

My job search still continues yet at the back of my mind I’m contemplating how things will run at home without me. Returning to work after an extended break for almost 2 and half years taking care of my son, I’m now trying to set my mind into major logistical and professional challenge.

Weekend Reviews and Snapshots

Looks like the week just started for me… I’m supposed to update this blog yesterday but got limited time as I spent it mostly with my son and house stuff.

Anyway, we had a long weekend last time celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival. In Migs’ school they celebrated it last Friday, they brought their own lanterns and moon cakes. The husband received moon cake also from the office (I just don’t like the taste, hehe)…. In the afternoon, I cooked spaghetti as requested by the little boy. Take a lookie:

Handy flash drive.

If you’re like me who love taking photos, then a flash drive like this is a big help to store your photos especially when you travel.

During our Manila vacation, I didn’t bring the external hard disc anymore instead I keep one flash memory data traveler. I haven’t used it though since I saved everything on the macmini that time but it comes in handy. When I have some photos to be printed, just save to the flash drive and can bring it along… easy and comfy. No hassle of saving to the disc. That’s one item that go together with my P&S digital cam.

Back to school

Last Thursday was the first day in school of our little boy, his 2nd school year. He’s now on Lower Kindergarten class or K2 as they called it here in Hong Kong.

Here’s a quick shot of him before he left the house…

Weekly Roundup: (8/25-31)

Weekly round up

My 2nd time to join, LOL! I wanted to do this every week, but for the life of me I don’t know why I always don’t have the entry. ;) Anyways, I hope starting this month I can keep this, as I really wanted to give you updates too of what was happening in our little world…

Ok, I have my image browser opened to see what activities we had. I tried to take a snap every day at least, blurred or not I saved it. :) … Last week was focused mostly on little boy’s school preps. We went to school to buy uniform then shopped for his new shoes last Sunday. As expected a lot of kids and parents buying shoes and school stuff that day so it took us a little while to get the correct size for the little boy. Good thing we don’t need to bother buying school supplies as all things provided by school.

Sister talk

Bonding with one of my sisters was one of the things I enjoyed during my stay in Manila. She’s still on maternity leave when I went there so I was able to tag her along going to malls and other places, as she was also my driver, hehe. While inside the car we talked different topics especially things about our kids and family. We even discussed insurance because I told her to secure one for herself. I referred her to our agent and she can just ask about the life insurance rates and ask for quotes. Aside from that, we also discussed about doing a business together. We gathered some ideas and plans and hopefully we can do it. Now that I’m back here in Hong Kong, we usually chat but not that often since she’s reporting to office already.
